The God I Worship

The God I Worship

There was a worship week recently at my church where I fellowship from, and I felt compelled to write a piece about worship. As I sat in the middle of the night thinking about worship, excitement filled my heart and I couldn’t stop writing as words begun to flow and take form. The Spirit of the Lord worked through one of my cheerleaders, our chairperson WOF who sent me a spoken word video in the morning and told me how she missed the times I used to do spoken word during singles overnight. She is God sent , she is one of those people I call my human angels and she made what I wanted to do clear giving the courage and push I needed . Thank you Auntie Sophie.

I didn’t hesitate and I quickly reached out to the leaders that were incharge of the worship week and kind enough, they allowed me to be part which blessed my heart. Writing this piece seemed so easy because God is everything to me, He is the reason I wake up in the morning and do what I do. I hope you enjoy this piece.

Just like the beautiful clouds on the spy, my God is awesome

When I think about the Lord, perfection comes to mind. Just like the beautiful clouds in the skies, My God is awesome. His presence makes me whole, which gives me the confidence to worship Him more and more, and more….. when His praises go up, His presence comes down ……. Today allow me to introduce to you the God I worship.

He is so high and yet so so near, more closer than a relative or a friend. He is the lion and yet the Lamb. The Alpha and Omega. He is Yahweh, the covenant keeping God. So faithful and true. He knows the end from the beginning, so you don’t have to worry about tomorrow, because, He is the God of time. He has the ability to stop, pause, rewind or even press forward at any given time. He holds your past, present, future and your destiny in His hands. His time is always perfect.

He know all your failures and weaknesses but still loves you the same. His live is un conditional. He died on your behalf, For your sins, He was transgressed. Friends, the God I worship is love indeed.

Romans 12:1-2, I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

The scriptures right there taught and helped me to understand the meaning of True worship. My pray is that your eyes will be opened too. Worship is more than just a song, it is a life style. Worshipping the father in spirit and in truth goes beyond emotions. It is that adrenaline that runs to the mind and commands the entire body to react…. the chemistry. Is that unexplainable experience between lovers- call it intimacy.

For me it is the butterflies in my stomach, the chills that runs through my entire body, the goosebumps on my skin, yes !!! and yes even the fastest heartbeats, are some of the signs that inform me, the King of Glory is in the room. The God I worship is my friend, lover and Father.

You see, you cannot truly worship something you don’t know. You need to create a relationship with God, have those intimate conversations so that you can experience the amazing God I worship. Stay blessed.

Rossette Kyakyo

My name is Rossette Kyakyo, a founder of a youth and women led NGO and Team Leader for Slum youth Rehabilitation and Development Organization (SYRADO). I have a postgraduate diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation from Uganda Management Institute, a degree in social sciences from Makerere university majoring in social worker and social administration, a diploma in social media marketing from SHAW Academy a diploma in Guidance and Counselling from YMCA, certificate in Home and community HIV/AIDS care and a certificate in Digital marketing which all have provided me with skills to become a champion and activist for adolescent girls and young women who are marginalized in the slums of Kampala Uganda. I have experience in youth advocacy and social enterprise where I continued to learn a lot and research on how to effectively empower the youth, women and teenage girls who are marginalized like the poor, sex workers, those living with HIV, refugees and drug addicts living in the slums in Uganda. I have so far trained over 400 young people with entrepreneurship skills 100 of whom are now business owners. Recycling Trash into treasure has created businesses for the HIV+ teenage girls living in Slums through Briquette making, decorative bottle making, straw doormat making, paper beads making among others which deals directly with environment protection and climate change mitigation.
