CHOOSE WISELY

CHOOSE WISELY

Everything we do on this planet earth is a choice. You choose what to do or not to do, what to think and what to say? The only question you need to ask yourself is why? Why do you think, say or do what you do? Remember, our choice informs our decisions which in turn inform our actions bringing short or long term consequences . These outcomes can be positive or negative. It is your choice so choose wisely.

It is my choice to use this photo and it is your choice to think what you want about it.

It is your choice to be happy or sad. You have a choice to stay poor or become rich.

It is your choice to stay in a bad relationship or get out. You have a choice to use you head or your heart. Choose not to settle for less than what you deserve.

It is your choice to stand up for what it is right and without compromise or to stay silent and let bullies and the corrupt go freely.

It is your choice to walk away or stay. It is your choice to run or stand still.

There are things in life that happen with in our control, those are easy to manipulate and get out of but then;

There are those situations that present themselves from outside our control. These can not be manipulated or changed since we have no control over them but it is how we choose to react to them that we set us apart from the rest. So choose wisely in every situation whether within or out of your control.

My heart is for the youth and us being the majority in the world, I would like to let you know that you have the power to change your future by choosing wisely on how you think, what you say and do. I know the COVID-19 pandemic caused great pain and almost a full year passed us by. But I am here to encourage you to choose to take the vaccine, choose to observe the SOPs put in place by the ministry of health and world health organization. Choose life because when you are live, there is time to fulfill your life purpose and live happily despite the current new normal.

Choose to get out of poverty and choose to be the master over your body. Choose to work hard and work smart. Choose to save and invest. Choose to say no to gender based violence and choose to promote the rights of the vulnerable. Choose to be a voice to the voiceless and choose to follow your dreams. Choose to have a vision and lay out the plan on how to achieve it. Choose God above all else because with Him you will succeed in everything you do and with out Him nothing can be accomplished.

Your mind is a powerful instrument that will take you to your destination. Choose to think of things that matter and clear out all doubts and fears from your mind. Choose to visualize what you what to see and put them down on a paper so that you don’t forget them. Choose to have confidence in yourself by telling it to your mind. Choose to have positive declarations in the morning, afternoon and evening. These positive affirmations when said repeatedly, will cause your mind to register them and thus becoming a reality. Confession is possession.

Choose to put into action what you visualize

Lastly Choose to love yourself more than you love yourself now. The more you learn to love you, the more power you over negativity from the outside environment. Most importantly, you also learn to love others better because you love you. Choose wisely. Happy new month

Choosing to love you makes loving others easy

Rossette Kyakyo

My name is Rossette Kyakyo, a founder of a youth and women led NGO and Team Leader for Slum youth Rehabilitation and Development Organization (SYRADO). I have a postgraduate diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation from Uganda Management Institute, a degree in social sciences from Makerere university majoring in social worker and social administration, a diploma in social media marketing from SHAW Academy a diploma in Guidance and Counselling from YMCA, certificate in Home and community HIV/AIDS care and a certificate in Digital marketing which all have provided me with skills to become a champion and activist for adolescent girls and young women who are marginalized in the slums of Kampala Uganda. I have experience in youth advocacy and social enterprise where I continued to learn a lot and research on how to effectively empower the youth, women and teenage girls who are marginalized like the poor, sex workers, those living with HIV, refugees and drug addicts living in the slums in Uganda. I have so far trained over 400 young people with entrepreneurship skills 100 of whom are now business owners. Recycling Trash into treasure has created businesses for the HIV+ teenage girls living in Slums through Briquette making, decorative bottle making, straw doormat making, paper beads making among others which deals directly with environment protection and climate change mitigation.
