Entering the Resthouse auditorium, the atmosphere was different, the auditorium was full and I being a Christian event organizer I know too well how most Christians don’t like paying for events but seeing what was happening I knew this one was a different kind of event. So I asked the lady next to me why she came for the show and she was like, “I wouldn’t miss it for anything, I love Godfrey’s live shows but also Nyanjala by Brian Lubega, on top of that this show was announced on MCF radio and I knew it was good. I am glad I am here”. Just like this lady, most people came simply because it was Godfrey
I knew that everyone felt the hunger I felt, it has been so long since we all gathered together and worshipped. Coronavirus took these moments from us and this was the first concert since 2019 and it has been a whole two years without such a gathering. We have been in nothing else but a lockdown, oh we could hold our joy and excitement.
The master of ceremony was King Wesely who is now the president of gospel artists. He read the mood and was in sync with the worship moments. Most emcees fail to read the mood in the room but he did and it was wonderful. He even started worship songs and prepared people to dive into deep.
The CURTAIN RISERS
Twina Hebert was the first artist on stage and boy oh boy, he turned the stage into a pulpit, Brian Lubega was amazing and we all got lost in the presence of the lord. Justine Nabosa knows her God and when worshippers know their God, they do great exploits. That is what it felt like when she took the mike.
There was a twist when Pastor Bugembe showed up, he wasn’t on the list of the singers but he showed up anyway. That is what I call supporting fellow artists, his presence was a shock even to the event organizer himself. I also saw Joseph Ssegawa in the audience which was great to see an artist, not on the lineup in the audience, their support.
What I like most was when pastor Bugembe called all the other artists on stage, composed a song on stage, and have each artist sing. It was epic, this is all I can say. One thing that I liked most about this was the fact that all the people were praying and singing along to the new song. It was awesome to see.
GODFREY KWEZI
The main act of the night did not disappoint, he started with some cover worship songs which resonated with most of us and I saw most people in the crowd either crying or on their knees praying like they have never prayed before. I felt the presence of God. To be honest, I am waiting for testimonies from the show.
He, later on, sang his original compositions and even those that didn’t know them even without the projector sang along to the new songs. It was one of the best times in the presence of God, just worshiping.
YADAH
I had never heard about YADAH FOR LIFE or what it means but I got to know that day and I loved what they do and stand for. They planned the event to the last detail and banded themselves that you could not ask them who they are. I believe I will do an article about them so that we can know them more and their work.
Special thanks to the Christian radio stations and TVs that advertised this event, God bless you. If all Christian media can partner with artists, I think we shall fill stadiums. I will not forget the pastors that attended the event, mostly were youth pastors and a few old ones but all in all, thank you for the support. Kananga miracle center was written everywhere and their presence couldn’t go unnoticed, when artists belong to the church and this church supports them, it is incredible. Mwebale
Good Job Godfrey and God bless the works of your hands and mouth.
