A KIND CHRISTMAS

A KIND CHRISTMAS

Love and kindness are never wasted. They always make a difference. They bless the one who receives them, and they bless you, the giver.” – Barbara De Angelis

A kind Christmas

Being kind is pretty self-explanatory, but there are a variety of ways that you can express it. Whether it is opening a door for someone or delivering a bouquet of flowers, kindness can have a greater impact than you think. It is one of the greatest attributes that someone can have.

This Christmas I saw kindness in my network. People whi sacrificially gave to feed the needy in the slums. I know the year has not favored most people because of COVID-19 but I am grateful for the kind people that God has blessed me with .

This year through Slum Youth Rehabilitation and Development Organization (SYRADO Uganda) we have been able to feed 50 families which have more than 6 family members. All this has been possible because my friends believed in the vision of sharing joy this Christmas and gave towards this mission.

Conrad, Patra, Apo, Sam K, Irene M, Jimmy K, Sarah N, Flavia B, Jamie, Solomy, Grant, Samuel K, JB Lwere, Christine N, Worship B, Mummy B, Sandra A, Auntie Emily, Auntie Loy, Leah, Auntie Hope, Auntie Vickie, Rytah Ug. These are the names of people that showed kindness this Christmas and I wanted to highlight them here to show my gratitude. One thing I know is that people who give will always receive.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Let this Christmas be more meaningful to you. Be kind to someone. Dont allow yourself to eat while your neighbor is starving, share the little with them and you will be blessed. Love gives

I want to wish you a kind Christmas

Rossette Kyakyo

My name is Rossette Kyakyo, a founder of a youth and women led NGO and Team Leader for Slum youth Rehabilitation and Development Organization (SYRADO). I have a postgraduate diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation from Uganda Management Institute, a degree in social sciences from Makerere university majoring in social worker and social administration, a diploma in social media marketing from SHAW Academy a diploma in Guidance and Counselling from YMCA, certificate in Home and community HIV/AIDS care and a certificate in Digital marketing which all have provided me with skills to become a champion and activist for adolescent girls and young women who are marginalized in the slums of Kampala Uganda. I have experience in youth advocacy and social enterprise where I continued to learn a lot and research on how to effectively empower the youth, women and teenage girls who are marginalized like the poor, sex workers, those living with HIV, refugees and drug addicts living in the slums in Uganda. I have so far trained over 400 young people with entrepreneurship skills 100 of whom are now business owners. Recycling Trash into treasure has created businesses for the HIV+ teenage girls living in Slums through Briquette making, decorative bottle making, straw doormat making, paper beads making among others which deals directly with environment protection and climate change mitigation.
